We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Data Warehouse/ETL Developer to develop and maintain ETL processing in support of HESA’s data warehouse, data collection activities and internal business systems.

Responsibilities/Duties as Data Warehouse/ETL Developer:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the data warehouse within the Microsoft Azure Cloud with emphasis on ETL (Extraction Transformation and Load) using Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
  • Enabling information flows in and around data warehouse, developing and implementing workable ETL solutions to automate processes where possible.
  • Work with the Lead BI Data Warehouse Developer to identify and understand source data systems.
  • Map source system data to the data warehouse, data marts or operational data store models.
  • Develop and test repeatable and where possible automated extraction, transformation and load (ETL) processes.
  • Define and capture metadata and rules associated with the ETL processes.

This role will report to the Lead BI Data Warehouse Developer.

You will have a minimum of 2 years direct work experience in SSIS, good understanding of data warehouse analysis and design experience, and knowledge of data warehouse methodologies and data modelling. You will have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and above and be able to analyse user requirements into technical solutions according to specifications, along with the ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels, and the ability to build strong working relationships.

Being educated to degree level and experience working in an Agile manner ideally within an Azure environment are highly desirable as is demonstrable ability with SQL BI stack.

The salary range for this post is £36,001 - £50,511k dependant on skills and experience. We offer an attractive package with initially 25 days leave, increasing to 30 days, plus bank holidays and extra Agency shutdown at Christmas; flexible working including remote and home working options; pension scheme and occupational health support.
