Collections Development Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a Collections Development Analyst to join our team to promoting and embed good practice in the collection and handling of data and to support the process for managing change to HESA’s data collection streams.

As part of this role, you will:

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders and work to maintain their trust and confidence.
  • Work with the Collections Development Manager to identify and provide challenge on requirements and proposals as necessary, working to ensure the best outcome.
  • Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement improvements to the change process and tooling.
  • Produce and maintain reports and dashboards to provide visibility of the volume of requests in the system
  • Work closely with HESA's Data Protection Team to ensure that the changes are processed in accordance with legislation and providing challenge to incoming requests.
  • Produce and maintain operational/procedural documentation to support the collections development process
  • Identify, analyse, and challenge change requests and documenting the impact of potential changes on data quality/business processes and systems
  • Triage change requests to ensure that they are fully formed and identify whether specialist input (for example Data Protection advice) is required
  • Using own knowledge of HESA’s data collections and processes to identify and propose solutions for business requirements with reference to HESA’s strategic priorities, relevant legislation/policies, and organisational capacity

You will be educated to higher education level or have relevant work experience and have an interest in Higher Education. You will be highly organised with a methodical approach to work planning and have experience of dealing with competing priorities.

Knowledge of the Higher Education sector, along with experience of working in a scrum team or agile environment and experience using Team Foundation Server (TFS) is highly desirable, as is knowledge of HESA data.

The salary range for this post is £29,370k - £40,000k. We offer an attractive package with initially 25 days leave, increasing to 30 days, plus bank holidays and extra Agency shutdown at Christmas; holiday buy/sell scheme, flexible working including remote and home working options; pension scheme and occupational health support.
